An experience like no other
A school visit to HMS Unicorn offers a unique and engaging experience for pupils and learners of all ages.
With our schools programme designed to support the Curriculum for Excellence, your class will get the opportunity to explore their heirtage by immersing themselves in 200 years of history and discovering life on board Scotland’s oldest ship.
Our range of interactive tours and hands-on workshops help pupils to become:
- Succesful learners
- Confident individuals
- Responsible citizens
- Effective contributors
Our Learning Guide provides further information about our schools programme and details of our tours and workshops.

Tours
Our school tours are tailored for different age groups and are led by members of our learning team. Each tour allows pupils to explore all four decks on board and find out more about the stories behind HMS Unicorn.
We also offer the opportunity for self guided visits and can provide teachers with our HMS Unicorn Activity Book to help pupils explore the ship. This activity book was created for other schoolchildren by class P7B at Craigowl Primary School, as part of Museums Galleries Scotland's Workforce for the Future programme.
